DaffSeek.org Launch Party

DaffSeek.org Launch Party
April 2006
by Nancy Tackett

After two and a half years of work by two people to make an idea become a reality, it was time to celebrate the launch of DaffSeek, org – a Daffodil Database on the Internet.

So, my husband Ben Blake and I sent out an evite and below are our friends who came to our home and celebrated with us.  It would have been wonderful to have a photo of Ben when our friends Peter and Lesley Ramsay called from New Zealand!  I was told that Ben’s feet were off of the ground during the entire conversation!

Enjoy the DaffSeek Party below

Guests enjoying the food and fun, left to right, Deb Crawford, Du Gang and his wife, Dave and Anna Rawls,
and Melissa Reading holding some of her beautiful daffodils she brought for the occasion.

More fun and food!  From left to right, Bob Spotts, Jan Moyers, and Anna Rawls.

Kirby Fong (without his camera?) and Melissa Reading enjoying a chat!

Debbie Pena and son Josiah made it in time for fun (before or after Boy Scouts!).

It would not be a GOOD party without our dear friend Marie Fay and our Goddaughter Miranda Fay!

Guests enjoyed a variety of food, including one of Harold Koopowitz’s personal favorites Dungeness Crab Spread!
Sorry Harold…there were no leftovers.

Ben enjoying time with Anna and Dave Rawls.

Bob Spotts recruiting new daffodil society members Geetha Haravu and her daughter.

Winston Ye and his son Gordon (bashful) enjoying a chat with the Fay ladies.

John Castor, Melissa Reading and Bob Spotts, brainstorming the next winning daffodil hybrid!

Don Boos (seated) drove down from Murphys for the celebration…thanks Don!

There is always a “kitchen group” and Debbie Pena, Marie and Miranda Fay,
and Josiah Pena made up part of it!

Dear friend Nathan Yokoyama was the driving force on the other side of the kitchen.
Thank you so much Nathan!

Ben made my cousin Gloria Davis (on the right) and I laugh!
